Summary: "One genius isn't enough for you, so you've got to hit on mine?!"
Author's Notes: Inspired by this cap and a cracky conversation with
"No missions for a week!"
"But Col, I-"
"That's an order, Major."
"Wasn't my fault, sir!"
"Shut it, Lorne"
Rodney chose that moment to walk into the room and it didn't take a genius to see the tension between Lorne and Sheppard. "What's going on?" He asked, warily.
Sheppard glared at McKay. "Don't pretend that you don't know!"
"Why on Earth would I do that? I know everything."
"So you know that Lorne was hitting on you? Again."
"Oh. That." For appearance sake, Rodney tried to be at least a little sorry, but he wasn't. Whenever Lorne (or any one else, for that matter) hit on him, Sheppard would get jealous and then they would have really hot, angry sex. In fact, it had been happening a lot more lately. Of course, that's because Rodney had been the one to initiate flirting with the other people. He was honestly surprised that Sheppard hadn't caught on to his plan yet. He'd done it enough.
"'Oh that'? Honestly, McKay, is that all you have to say?"
"Well can you blame him? I mean, I am good looking after all." Rodney glanced down at his own body, with a smug smirk.
John ignored the comment, even though he wholeheartedly agreed, and turned back to yell at Lorne. "One genius isn't enough for you, so you've got to hit on mine?!"
"Hey!" Rodney said, appalled. "Who are you calling a genius?"
"You, of course."
"And Radek."
"Well, yeah. He's pretty smart, Rodney. You have to admit."
"Pretty smart is right. Zalenka may have a brain and it might be powerful, but he is in no way a genius. I'm the only genius in this city."
"If you say so." John said.
"You-. I-. Ugh!" Rodney turned on his heel and stalked out of the room.
Once he was gone from hearing range, Sheppard turned back to Lorne. "Here's the twenty I owe you," he said, handing the Major a folded bill.
"Do you think Dr. McKay will ever realize you're onto his jealously scheme?" Lorne asked, pocketing the money.
John shrugged. "Doubt it. He hasn't figured out my plan yet."
Sheppard had known for some time now, about Rodney's scam to make him jealous. At first he was truly jealous of the other people hitting on his scientist, until one day he saw Rodney openly flirting with Chuck. After that it didn't take John too long to put 2 and 2 together, and figure out what Rodney was up to. So now he suggests that other's are just as smart, if not smarter than Rodney, knowing that it'd have the same effect Rodney's flirting had on him. The sex really was that good.
"I better go find McKay. He's probably in his room, sulking."
"Have fun Sir."
Sheppard gave him a devilish smirk, before turning and heading in the direction of McKay's room.
